Major tourist establishments have their own medical services. Some countries have agreements with the Spanish health service enabling tourists to receive free treatment from all outpatients departments and hospitals of the institute Catalá de la Salut on presentation of a form issued by the health authorities in their country of origin.
Pharmacies
Pharmacies can be identified by their red or green luminous cross. Opening hours are usally from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Suterdays. When the services of a pharmasist are needed outside these hours, a list of pharmacies on 24-hour emergency duty is posted outside of pharmacies that are closed and published in local newspapers.In small towns and villages, apply to the local police. Most medicines are sold on prescription.
